BIR Update for AITR Attachments Submission and Deadline in 2023

Hey everyone! Just a heads-up that the deadline for submitting attachments to electronically filed Annual Income Tax Returns (AITRs) through eBIRForms Package for Taxable Year 2022 is approaching quickly. It’s on May 2, 2023, and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has shared some important updates for us to follow. Let’s make sure we’re on top of this:

For the Revenue District Office (RDO) team, they need to:

  1. Accept the AITR attachments for Taxable Year 2022 from taxpayers who have their “Tax Return Receipt Confirmation” from eBIRForms.
  2. Use the “Filing Inquiry” feature in Online eBIRForms to verify that the AITR was filed before accepting any attachments from taxpayers who didn’t receive their “Tax Return Receipt Confirmation” using eBIRForms. If everything checks out, they should stamp “Received” on the attachments.

For those who haven’t received their “Tax Return Receipt Confirmation” for electronically filed AITR for Taxable Year 2022, here’s what you should do:

  1. Double-check that your email address is correct when submitting the AITR. It’s crucial to avoid any mistakes!
  2. Take a look at your inbox, and don’t forget to check the spam and junk folders as well. Sometimes, the email confirmation ends up there.
  3. Keep an eye on your email for any delayed “Tax Return Receipt Confirmation” for the electronically filed AITR. Patience can be really helpful here.
  4. Submit the attachments to the electronically filed AITRs at the RDO where you’re registered.

So, there you have it! By following these updated guidelines, you’ll be well-prepared for the AITR attachment submission before the deadline. Let’s get this done, everyone!
